Not satisfied with dominating country music, Jelly Roll has set his sights on the small screen next. In February, the “Save Me” singer starred in his very own Super Bowl commercial. Come this ESPN Saturday (Aug. 24) college football diehards will know it’s game day when they hear his scorching new song “Get By.” And that’s not the only cultural space “Get By” has found its way into this fall.

Jelly Roll Song Tapped For Tusla King

Tulsa King kicks off its second season Sunday, Sept. 15, on Paramount+. Created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and starring Sylvester Stallone, viewership for its November 2022 debut topped HBO’s House of the Dragon. Now, mobster Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) is back for another round.

The network released the trailer for Tulsa King season 2 on Aug. 15. As the camera cuts to a shot of American and Oklahoma flags blowing in the wind, Jelly Roll’s voice fades in. I light every bridge I see just to watch it burn / sings the six-time CMA Award winner. If you’d seen all the hell I’ve seen it’d make your stomach turn,”

The “Son of a Sinner” hitmaker’s steely vocals continue as the trailer builds momentum: I might drink a little / I might smoke a lot / Show up Sunday morning / Looking just like last night / Yeah, that’s how I get by.”

Lyrics entirely befitting of a Taylor Sheridan drama.

Many took to the Instagram comments section to express their excitement, including Jelly’s wife, Bunnie Xo. “Ayooooo,” wrote the model and podcaster.

“Hell yeah, can’t wait and @jellyroll615 song in the promo? Double hell yeah!!” wrote one thrilled Instagram user.

“College Football, Jesus, Lynyrd Skynyrd”: Jelly Is Living The Dream

“Get By” is a track from the follow-up to Jelly Roll’s 2023 smash hit Whitsitt Chapel (reportedly titled Beautifully Broken.) These days, however, the “Liar” singer is doing better than simply getting by—he’s thriving.

In an Aug. 8 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Jelly Roll called authoring the College GameDay anthem a “lifelong dream.”

“It’s real easy where I’m from, dude,” the Tennessee native said. “It goes college football, Jesus, Lynyrd Skynyrd.”

“It’s in that order,” he continued. “God made college football before he took a day off.”
