Resident good dude Jelly Roll was recently in Salt Lake City, Utah, when he came across a trio of young kids running a lemonade stand. While in the city for a stop in the Beautifully Broken Tour, Jelly Roll was seemingly out and about when he spotted the local lemonade stand.

One of the mothers of the group of three kids posted about the moment on Facebook. According to Wendy Gardunio, her daughter set up the lemonade stand with two of her cousins. All was supposedly normal for a roadside lemonade stand, until Jelly Roll showed up and gave them almost $700.

“So today was an interesting day,” Gardunio wrote in her Facebook post. “My kid and her cousins wanted to do a lemonade stand. And they had a famous singer come and buy some lemonade. Who would have thought that we would run into jelly roll in west valley. And for him to be so generous with giving them almost $700.”

The post included photos of the three kids posing with Jelly Roll, who has a huge smile on his face. From offering to pay a student’s tuition, to running the biggest toy drive in Nashville, to giving some Utah kids almost $700 for lemonade, Jelly Roll continues his trend of giving back to the communities he visits.

Jelly Roll Continues His Trend of Philanthropy by Donating Pre-Sale Revenue of New Album to Charities

With his newest album Beautifully Broken on the horizon—out October 11—Jelly Roll is pledging to donate all revenue from album pre-sales to multiple charities. He’s planning to donate to Folds of Honor, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Shatterproof, and Wounded Warriors.

Fold of Honor provides scholarships to the partners and children of first responders and military service members who have been killed or wounded while in the line of duty. The scholarships cover private school tuition for grades K-12, college, trade school, or post-graduate work.

Next, NAMI is a grassroots organization for people with mental illnesses and their families. It is the largest national organization of it’s kind, with chapters in every state serving more than 900 communities. NAMI focuses on the aspects of “recovery, resiliency, and support” to aid those struggling with mental illness, and also works to fight stigmas surrounding mental health.

Shatterproof is an organization that works to change the landscape of addiction recovery in the U.S. It works to guide families through the difficult reality of substance abuse, as well as educate the public on recovery, treatment, and prevention, and working to reduce stigma.

Finally, Jelly Roll is also donating to Wounded Warriors. This organization works to help wounded servicemembers heal, adjust, and succeed in society. The project connects servicemembers and their families with mentors and communities, and provides free mental and physical health programs, among many other benefits.
