With the Toby Keith tribute concert airing tonight, featuring a performance by Keith’s daughter Krystal, fans are looking back at some of her past performances. One includes a rendition of the national anthem at an Oklahoma softball game this June.

The video features Krystal on home plate performing the anthem. Both softball teams are lined up on either side of her, respectfully listening as she launches into her rendition. Her voice is rich with a slight waver of country twang. The video ends with a plane flying majestically over the field and the gathered crowd erupting into cheers and applause.

On July 29, country stars gathered to pay tribute to Toby Keith at a recorded concert that will air tonight on NBC. Krystal Keith took the stage at the time to perform one of her dad’s songs, “Don’t Let the Old Man In,” and previously spoke about the process of getting through the performance.

Krystal Keith Reveals How Hard it Was to Perform Dad Toby Keith’s Song “Don’t Let the Old Man In”

Speaking with The Oklahoman, Krystal revealed that she felt her heart was “pulling” her to be involved in the concert.

“I went to our team and I said, ‘Listen, my heart is pulling me to be a part of this, as hard as I think that’s going to be. I don’t even know that I can make it through it. But if all of these artists are coming to celebrate him and perform his songs and sing, I feel like it would be almost disrespectful for me not to participate in that. So, I think I need to sing if there’s a space for me,’” she said.

The producers were on board, and while Krystal wanted to perform one of her dad’s fun, upbeat songs, the producers chose something else for her.

“I was like, ‘I was hoping I could get through a fun party song, and that one, I don’t know that I can get through,’” she said of the song “Don’t Let the Old Man In.” She continued, “So, it really took me about a week to wrap my head around whether or not I could perform that and get through it and make him proud without breaking down. I listened to it several times, I played it on the piano and sang along with it, just to see if I could do it justice.”
