In July, Rory Feek, formerly one-half of the husband-and-wife duo Joey + Rory remarried eight years after his wife’s passing. He composed a heartfelt song for his new wife, Rebecca, and shared touching photos and videos with the world. Fans were excited to see the singer/songwriter moving forward with this life. However, recent posts from Feek’s oldest daughters allege that there is a darker side to Feek’s life, home, and new relationship. As a result, they are pursuing legal action against their father.

According to an in-depth report by Taste of Country, Feek’s oldest daughter, Heidi, took to social media on Friday (August 23) to share information about her father. In short, the Instagram stories stated that she and her sister Hopie planned to pursue legal action against their father to protect their younger sister, Indiana, who is only ten years old.

“Our focus is solely on ensuring Indiana’s safety, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to protect her,” the story slide read. “Over the past two years, my sister Hopie and I have been increasingly cut off from Indiana. Our father has restricted our communication and visits with her, which only heightened our concerns about her care,” Heidi added. She went on to say that they’ve heard of some “alarming” issues surrounding Indiana’s well-being and all attempts to address those concerns have been ignored.

“Our fears were further compounded when we discovered that Indiana was involved with an organization known for its troubling history of child abuse,” she continued. “We are pursuing legal action because we no longer believe Indiana is safe under our father’s care, and her well-being remains our top priority.”

Rory Feek Is Seemingly a Member of Homestead Heritage

Rory Feek’s wedding took place at the Greycliff Ranch in Montana which is the center of the Montana branch of Homestead Heritage. The Taste of Country report noted that several prominent members of the Waco, Texas-based organization were in Feek’s wedding party. Additionally, a close family friend told the publication that Feek has been heavily dealing with the organization for the past few years.

According to several reports, including an ABC News investigation, the Christian-based farming community has a long history of child abuse and molestation. As a result, their father’s apparent involvement in the organization serves to increase Heidi and Hopie’s fears for their little sister’s safety and well-being.

In an interview with ToC, Heidi recalled her father refusing to get her medical treatment for a broken leg for more than 24 hours. During that time, he instructed her to “stop crying” and forced her to help him set up for a gig. On another occasion, Feek allegedly allowed a former girlfriend to severely beat Heidi after she accidentally spilled a bottle of perfume. She worries that her father’s involvement in an organization that allegedly protects those who abuse and molest children will put her little sister in danger of facing worse abuses at the hands of her father and other members of Homestead Heritage.

Heidi and Hopi have set up a GoFundMe to help with legal fees. Check out the campaign page to donate or learn more about their cause.
