Christine McVie‘s instruments, outfits, and other memorabilia from her time in Fleetwood Mac will be heading to auction. Julien’s Auctions will present “Property from the Life and Career of Christine McVie” at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on October 16 and 17. McVie passed away in November 2022.

Of the items selected are pieces of McVie’s jewelry, her touring wardrobe, instruments, personal mementos, and awards. The auction will primarily benefit MusiCares, but will also benefit other charities as well.

Among the listings, according to a report from Rolling Stone, are McVie’s 1998 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award. Additionally, the RIAA multi-platinum plaque for Rumours is among the items.

“The auction is more than just a sale of memorabilia. It’s a celebration of McVie’s extraordinary talent and her enduring impact on music,” said Julien’s Auctions in a statement. “From penning some of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits like ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Little Lies’ to her successful solo career, she blazed a trail for female artists in the industry. Her legacy lives on through her music, and this auction offers fans a chance to own a piece of that legacy.”

Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks Made a Pact While in Fleetwood Mac

When Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974, there could have been a shake-up in the band. However, early on they made a pact together. They were two extraordinary women in a male-dominated field, and so they promised to support each other if they were not getting the respect they deserved.

In a 2020 CBS interview, Nicks revealed exactly the parameters of the pact. “Christine and I, we made a pact at the very beginning that if we were ever in a room of super famous guitar players that didn’t treat us with the respect that we thought that we deserved, that we would just stand up and say, ‘This party’s over,’ and we would walk out,” said Nicks. “We never actually did have to do that. So, that was a nice surprise.”

Nicks and McVie didn’t find it hard to get along, even when everyone around them were worried how Nicks’ arrival in the band would affect McVie. “Mick came to me and said, ‘They have a girl involved here. You’re gonna have to meet her and see if you like her,’” McVie once said to Rolling Stone in 2014. “We met, and I instantly liked her. She and I are not competitive in any way at all.”
