R Last month, Rory Feek’s estranged adult daughter Heidi Feek took to social media to share her concerns about her younger sister’s safety. In the posts, she told her followers that she and her sister Hopie had started a GoFundMe campaign to raise legal funds to ensure their younger sister’s safety. Since then, their father responded publicly.

Feek responded to his daughters’ accusations and more in a blog post over the weekend. In the lengthy post, he states that he doesn’t want to “settle family disputes” in such a public way. “…this is not how this should be done,” he wrote. “Instagram and Facebook are not the places where we should, as people and families, be settling our disputes or differences,” he added.

Later in the post, he reveals why he has refrained from responding publicly. He states that Heidi has been “posting hurtful stuff” for two years. He said that he hasn’t responded because he loves his kids, “even if their desire is to hurt [him] deeply.”

Rory Feek Disputes Heidi Feek’s Claims

Heidi and Hopie Feek said they were worried about their ten-year-old sister Indiana because their father is now a member of a cult called Homestead Heritage. Rory Feek denies that he is in a cult. “If you call following a man who lived two thousand years ago who said he was the Savior of the world being in a cult, then every Christian you know or have ever met is part of a cult,” he wrote in the blog post. He goes on to say that Homestead Heritage is not a cult stating they are, “Just living in a way that other people don’t like or understand.”

He noted that there is a history of child abuse and sexual assault in the Homestead Heritage organization. However, he said those were the actions of “a few bad apples.”

Later in the blog post, he states that Indiana has “never been more loved or cared for than she is right now.” He also praised his new wife for stepping up and taking care of the young girl saying that she “finally” has a mother in her life.

    Heidi and Hopie Respond

After Rory Feek made his 3,000-plus-word blog post, his daughters took to Instagram to respond. They collaborated on a series of posts on Heidi Feek’s profile. “You’re right of course, online isn’t the place to settle this. We don’t know if you are aware, but we’ve been trying to reach you for months now offline, but you haven’t been responding,” they wrote in one slide. The next slide features a screenshot of several unanswered text messages.

Then, the sisters begin to tell their father the things they’ve forgiven him for. “Love is action, not words,” they wrote. “You abandoned us in the middle of the night when we were children… and we forgive you,” they wrote. “You spat on us as a joke when you drank too much. We forgive you. You threw us against walls as children in anger, we forgive you,” they continued.

In another post, they pointed out the criminal deeds of several Homestead Heritage members including two fugitives, one of which was a member of Feek’s wedding party. They believe the other fugitive, who is facing sexual assault charges against a minor, is hiding in the Montana-based Homestead Heritage community where Feek’s wedding took place. “Love is action,” they wrote after sharing these details. “We love our little sister Indiana more than anything in the world, so we are taking action.”
