Although passing away back in 1977, Elvis Presley left behind a legacy that continues to capture the spotlight. Throughout the icon’s career, he sold a whopping 500 million albums worldwide. He also produced a promising career on the silver screen. Seeming to love the stage, Elvis released over 20 studio albums with his last, Moody Blue, hitting shelves the year he passed. Recently, Priscilla Presley celebrated her former husband by explaining why Elvis loved Hawaii so much.

For any person who happens to travel to Hawaii, it is easy to see why people fall in love with the lavish greenery and pristine beaches. Not to mention the rich history the island offers. For Priscilla, she traveled to the island to celebrate the Hawaii Theater turning 102 years old. While taking a moment to greet guests and even share a picture, Priscilla opened up about Elvis and his connection with Hawaii.

Giving some details about Elvis, Priscilla said, “He would always go there to relax, first chill out, and then he felt much better in confronting what he had to do and finish up, like shows in Vegas and other places as well.” Explaining how much stress came with performing, she added, “I mean, he when he performed. I mean, he gave it his all. So after that month, let’s say, of him performing, he just needed to chill out and just not think of anything and relax and, and, you know, appreciate life.”
