17-Year-Old Rapper Recovering After Undergoing Open-Heart Surgery

While born Tay Tian, the influencer and rapper decided to go by the name Lil Tay as she gained millions of views on YouTube. Never afraid to showcase her lavish lifestyle, the rapper looked to expand her career past social media as she released the single “Sucker 4 Green.” While hoping to find her footing in genres like hip-hop and pop, the singer watched as more than a few rumors followed her after a confusing death hoax. And now, it appears that the rapper underwent open-heart surgery, causing fans to offer their love and support to Lil Tay as she looked ahead to the long road to recovery.

Posting a video on his Instagram page, Lil Tay’s team filmed the star in a hospital bed with numerous machines hooked to her. The caption read, “We are overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success! We are deeply thankful to her surgeon, cardiologist and the team who are the best in the world! Thank you for the love, prayers, and positive energy you have all sent her way. Thank you for your continued support.” Her team added, “We are off to a great start on the road to recovery.”

Before sharing the great news about the surgery, Lil Tay’s team produced another video showing an ultrasound of the rapper’s heart. Again, they wrote, “Tay has been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart tumor.”

Although some fans questioned the video given her past with the death hoax, others rallied around Lil Tay. “Omg I understand she’s made some mistakes in life but I truly hope for her to have a speedy recovery.” At only 17 years old, the idea of needing open-heart surgery is a scary moment for any person, especially a teenager.

Lil Tay Once Struggled With Rumors That She Passed Away

Besides her ongoing health struggles, Lil Tay made headlines back in 2023 when a message suggested, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.”

Thankfully, the message wasn’t real as Lil Tay claimed her account was hacked. Updating fans, she insisted, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say.”

While dealing with hacks and rumors, Lil Tay’s recent health problems brought a great deal of support from fans, who wish her a speedy recovery.
