Morgan Wallen Could Serve up to 2 Months Jail Time for Chief’s Incident, per Report

It is common knowledge that last spring Morgan Wallen was arrested for throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s, in downtown Nashville. The masses have been diligently following the story both with empathy and scrutiny and continue to do so as new information becomes public.

For context, Wallen’s charges are three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, and a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct. That night he was released on a $12,500 bond. Following his arrest, Wallen had his first court date in Davidson County General Sessions court on August 15. However, his attorneys filed for a continuance resulting in a rescheduled date in mid-December. In terms of the story, that’s all the public has known, until now.

Morgan Wallen’s Unlikely Plea Deal

With the help of an inside source, Life & Style Magazine learned that Wallen’s legal team has been trying to negotiate a plea deal. The plea deal they are fighting for would entail no jail time and just probation for Wallen. Although, the probability of that happening looks minimal.

“It’s looking bleak at this point. He’s likely to spend time behind bars,” says the inside source. “I don’t think the prosecutors want him to skate away with no time because people will think it’s because of his celebrity status.”

Hoping For a Misdemeanor

Per the inside source, “Morgan is being told the best scenario is a 30-to-60-day sentence.” If this comes to fruition, it would raise quite a few problems for Wallen in terms of his scheduling. In addition to the potential jail time, another issue for Wallen is whether Davidson County prosecutors will reduce the felony charges to misdemeanors.

If Morgan Wallen receives felony convictions “it’s going to make it hard for him to get work visas to tour internationally,” according to the source. As of now, the only hope for Wallen is his upcoming court date in December. If Wallen pleads guilty to his charges, then he will know his punishment sooner. If not, there is no way to tell how much longer the legal proceedings will take. The 31-year-old country music star joins a long list of musicians to face charges in Davidson County.
