Did you know that only a handful of country songs have ever sold more than 10 million copies–i.e. gone Diamond? As of 2024, only eleven songs have earned that title in this genre, despite how popular it has been over the last few decades. Below, find three of the most successful country songs of all time, statistically speaking.

3 of the Most Successful Country Songs of All Time

    1. “Cruise” (Florida Georgia Line)

It wasn’t until 2016 that a country song obtained diamond status. Florida George Line’s “Cruise” became the first song in the genre to sell over 10 million copies. Kind of crazy right? When you consider how many stellar country songs came before it. But, it’s not hard to see why this song was so successful. It had immense crossover appeal. Even music fans who usually didn’t listen to country were give this one a spin from time to time. That appeal added up to this mammoth hit of a song.

    Baby you’re a song

You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise

Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle

Every little farm town with you

In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit

Would look a hell lot better with you up in it

    So baby you’re a song

You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise

    2. “Beautiful Crazy” (Luke Combs)

Luke Combs has several songs that have been certified Diamond by the RIAA, but we’re looking at the one that kicked that streak off for Combs: “Beautiful Crazy.” This sentimental ode to love captured the hearts of many music fans. Combs later had “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane” join this track in its Diamond status.

    Beautiful, crazy

She can’t help but amaze me

    The way that she dances

    Ain’t afraid to take chances

And wears her heart on her sleeve

    Yeah, she’s crazy

But her crazy’s beautiful to me

    3. “Old Town Road” (Lil Nas X)

“Old Town Road” can boast being the fastest single ever to rise to Diamond status. The mixed genre hit took the world by storm in 2018. It quickly put Lil Nas X on the map and inspired several remixed versions with top artists. It was catchy enough to launch an entire, enduring career.

Yeah, I’m gonna take my horse to the old town road

I’m gonna ride ’til I can’t no more
