The latest season of The Voice brings not only a fresh crop of aspiring artists, but also an almost entirely new coaching lineup. Veteran Gwen Stefani joins season 25 champ Reba McEntire, along with newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. Fresh off a starring role in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Snoop was already making waves ahead of Monday’s (Sept. 23) NBC premiere. Viewers couldn’t wait to watch the “Gin and Juice” rapper crip-walk out to his big red chair.

Snoop Dogg Is Entering His ‘The Voice’ Era

Even before season 26 premiered at 7 p.m. Central on Monday (Sept. 23), The Voice viewers were already stoked to see Snoop Dogg in action.

“I am so ready to see you on the voice, unc!!” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “I’m tuned in!”

“snoop dogg is now judge on the voice, what does he not do?” another X/Twitter user wondered. (The answer: not much.)

Still another fan added, “I can not wait to watch @SnoopDogg on the voice this season.”

Although mostly known for hip-hop hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “I’m From 21st Street,” the West Coast legend (born Calvin Broadus Jr.) is looking to prove his multi-dimensionality on The Voice.

“If you know anything about me, you know I love music of all forms,” the 16-time Grammy nominee said during a May appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. “So this is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and, you know, to be a real coach and to really give direction to some of these artists that could be today’s next big thing.”

    “He Can Do Anything”

Viewers weren’t the only ones excited for the D-O-Double-G to make his The Voice debut. A season 26 promo posted to YouTube show fellow coach Gwen Stefani absolutely beside herself to meet her “idol.”

“He created a brand within himself that’s broken barriers,” said the former No Doubt frontwoman. “Like, he is just Snoop. Like, you don’t even have to say Snoop Dogg anymore.”

Season 25 champion coach Reba McEntire agreed. “He’s so friendly, so fun, so talented—but his heart is what grabbed more more than anything,” she said.
