Sturgill Simpson is currently on his Why Not? Tour to support his latest album, Passage Du Desir. The trek kicked off in San Francisco, California at the Outside Lands Festival. It will keep him on the road until late November when he wraps things up at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Fans who weren’t able to get tickets can get the next best thing. Simpson is releasing recordings from each night of the tour stop.

There’s a catch, though. Fans won’t be able to listen to the recordings on their usual streaming app of choice. Instead, Simpson has partnered with Nugs.net, a giant in the realm of live music streaming to bring these recordings to the masses.

Nugs announced the partnership in a social media post yesterday. “An icon in modern country and rock for his streaming launch we have official concert audio up from five opening nights of the Why Not Tour 2024,” the post read. “Downloads are available and each night is streaming exclusively in the Nugs app with a free 7-day trial. … New shows are coming nightly!”

Sturgill Simpson Concerts Available on Nugs.Net Now

As the post stated, recordings from five concerts are available to stream or download now. Those who have Nugs.net subscriptions can stream them for free. On the other hand, those who don’t want to pay for another monthly subscription can buy the shows individually in MP3, FLAC, or ALAC formats.

    Available Concert Streams:

    • 08/15—Santa Barbara, California @ Santa Barbara Bowl
    • 08/17—West Valley City, Utah @ Maverik Center
    • 08/19—Bend, Oregon @ Hayden Homes Amphitheater
    • 08/20—George, Washington @ The Gorge Amphitheater
    • 08/22—Missoula, Montana @ Kettlehouse Amphitheater

Each show contains a combination of original songs and covers. There are plenty of fan favorites from Passage Du Desir as well as songs from Simpson’s pre-Johnny Blue Skies albums. Originals like “Turtles All the Way Down,” “I Don’t Mind,” “Railroad of Sin,” and “Scooter Blues” appear on most setlists. Additionally, covers of “L.A. Woman,” “Purple Rain,” and “Red Red Wine” appear on the setlists.
