David Gilmour just delighted Pink Floyd fans. In a recent warm up show for his upcoming Luck and Strange Tour, the singer played songs both new and old, including some that he hadn’t performed in two decades.

Gilmour, who last performed a full concert in 2016, rocked the Brighton, England, with new tracks including “Black Cat” and “The Piper’s Call.”

Pink Floyd songs featured during the show include “Marooned,” “Breathe (In the Air),” and “A Great Day for Freedom.” According to Ultimate Classic Rock, before the Sept. 20 concert, Gilmour hadn’t performed the former track since 2004 and the latter two since 2006.

Given the warm up show, fans are more excited than ever for Gilmour’s tour. The singer will hit the road Sept. 27 in Rome, Italy, before playing shows in London and Los Angles. The tour will conclude with a five-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

David Gilmour Won’t Play Certain Pink Floyd Songs on Tour

Just before his recent concert, Gilmour spoke to Mojo about why some Pink Floyd songs will be left off his set list going forward.

“There are songs from the past that I no longer feel comfortable singing,” he said. “I love ‘Run Like Hell.’ I loved the music I created for it, but all that ‘You’d better run, run, run…’ I now find that all rather, I don’t know… a bit terrifying and violent.”

“‘Another Brick In The Wall’ is another one I shan’t be doing. I don’t think I’ve done that with my own band, but I certainly did it in the post-Roger Pink Floyd, against my better judgment,” Gilmour added. “The same with ‘Money.’ I won’t be doing that.”

yep. he has New music he plays. just like led Zeppelin lead Singer doesn't play led Zeppelin songs with the band he plays in or apart of. just once and a while. The final cut was good, the last album they kinda did together, but it was mainly songs that didn't fit in or they have the room in The WALL album. I found the new 80s album momentary lapse of reason, was Good. alot of 80s sounds and Music, but there were big differences in the whole album.since Roger Waters Left, I really liked the Division Bell. album. David has done a lot keeping the Pink Floyd bands music alive and Roger Waters has been doing just fine with those The Wall tours. amazing music concerts performances ever. and records as the one of most expensive set ups and concerts ever done.
