Oasis Won’t Be Doing Interviews Together for This (Surprisingly) Heartwarming Reason

The news of Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour has reinvigorated interest in the divisive and iconic Gallagher lads from Manchester, from their highly publicized conflicts to their decade-defining repertoire—thanks to the former, Oasis won’t be doing interviews together. At least, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher won’t be. According to frontman Liam, they’re avoiding joint interviews to insulate themselves from nosey members of the press seeking to aggravate tension between the siblings.

Oasis might be coming back, but in typical Oasis fashion, they’re only going to do so on their terms.

Why Oasis Won’t Be Doing Interviews Together This Time Around

Oasis dominated the cultural zeitgeist in the mid to late 1990s, thanks to smash hits like “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.” But the Britpop band seemed to be in the media for their interpersonal dynamics and rowdy behavior just as much—if not more than—their music. After all, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher’s long-running rivalry is the reason why they’re having a “reunion” tour, not a “regular” tour.

Prior to their 2024 announcement to join forces once more, the Gallaghers went back and forth for years about whether they would ever reunite. Noel had strong feelings; Liam did, too. One brother would lash out to the press; the other would respond in kind. Round and round the Gallaghers went until finally, they decided to let bygones be bygones.

But that doesn’t mean they’re going to fall into narrative-spinning traps by the media that easily. Frontman Liam shared his feelings on the matter on X, formerly known as Twitter. When one user mused that the reason Noel didn’t want to do interviews with Liam is because Liam “is funnier,” Liam responded, “We don’t want to do interviews coz we’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship.”

The Gallagher Attitude Isn’t Going Anywhere

Even though the decision to avoid joint interviews is a surprising sign of maturity between the long-feuding Gallagher brothers, that doesn’t necessarily mean their infamous attitudes are going anywhere. They’re just not looking to pit those attitudes against one another in front of the watchful eyes of the media. Frontman Liam Gallagher, who is incredibly active on X, has been responding to fans’ questions about the brothers’ relationship moving forward.

“R u not gonna tweet s*** about Noel anymore now you’ve made up,” one user asked. The Oasis singer sarcastically replied, “Nope it’s all done peace has prevailed he’s the man I can’t wait to be on stage with him blowing him kisses in between each song.”

Clearly, the Gallaghers have no shortage of snark to deliver to fans and critics alike. We don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that Liam will blow kisses to Noel in between songs just to spite people who want to see the brothers fight on-stage á la Jane’s Addiction. At least blowing kisses would be better than hitting Noel upside the head with a tambourine like Liam has done in years past.
