Oasis Won’t Do Interviews Before Reunion Tour Over Fear of “Intrusive Questions”

Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis are allegedly not interested in doing interviews ahead of their 2025 international reunion tour. And we can’t quite blame them. The pair announced the upcoming tour in late August. Oasis hasn’t done any interviews with any major publications since the announcement.

Now, we have some context into why. Liam Gallagher took to X yesterday to answer a few fan questions. He was pretty direct (as always) about why Oasis won’t be sitting down with any interviewers anytime soon.

A fan made a post on the platform noting that Liam and Noel’s relationship is much bigger than Oasis. They also noted that the media often contributed to the tension between the two brothers. That’s something we can’t help but agree with. Gallagher responded to the post with “RESPEK”.

He went on to say that he and Noel are “scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship.” Because of this, they won’t be engaging in any interviews ahead of the tour. He also made it clear that “they ain’t getting” a press conference ahead of the tour, either.

However, Gallagher also said that Oasis won’t be doing interviews because they “can’t be arsed”, so who knows how serious he is? It’s hard to tell a lot of the time.

The Complicated History of Oasis’ Liam and Noel Gallagher Goes Beyond Not Doing Interviews

The Manchester-born musicians formed Oasis together in the 1990s. They enjoyed quite a successful career in the Britpop and rock genres. However, the two brothers have always had a difficult and contentious relationship. That came to a head in 2009, when the band suddenly announced that they were done for good following a very stressful tour. Noel announced that he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

Luckily, it looks like Liam and Noel are on good terms; though it did take about 15 years. Their highly-anticipated reunion is set to start in 2025, with shows spanning the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Mexico, and Australia.

Cage The Elephant will open for the band’s US sets. Any additional openers have not yet been announced, and Liam is allegedly looking for bands to join them on tour. Many of those shows are already sold out, and the band has said that they won’t be doing any festival sets.

Liam has been fairly active on social media, which has provided at least a little bit of insight into the brothers’ relationship and what prompted the reunion. In a few September tweets, Liam said that “peace has prevailed” and he can’t wait to be on stage with his brother. Even though Oasis won’t be doing interviews, fans can still more or less interact with the band.
