Gaining a love for music thanks to stars like Buck Owens and Roy Clark, John 5 eventually found his way to the stage as he performed alongside Marilyn Manson and David Lee Roth. But for most, they remember his time with the iconic Mötley Crüe. Although receiving the name John 5 from Manson, the guitarist continues to use it. Excited about his future with Mötley Crüe, the musician recently discussed the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency and how the band was “gonna dive deep into the catalog and we’re gonna do all sorts of cool stuff.”

Kicking off in March 2025, Mötley Crüe will take over the Dolby Live at Park MGM Theater for an 11-show residency. Appearing on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, John 5 opened up about what fans can expect from the iconic heavy metal band. “We’re so excited. We’re so excited. And we’re gonna dive deep into the catalog and we’re gonna do all sorts of cool stuff. And this venue has this Dolby Atmos, and the sound is unbelievable. It is shocking how incredible the sound is. I mean, it goes over your head and goes over here, goes over there. We’re gonna do some really, really special things.”

John 5 Praises Tommy Lee For Being A “Whiz” When It Comes To Concerts

Taking a moment to praise Tommy Lee, John 5 explained how knowledgeable the drummer was when it came to concerts. “We are super, super excited. And Tommy is a whiz with that stuff, with the Dolby Atmos and all that. We’re so excited. But I love Vegas, and I just can’t wait. It’s gonna be insane — absolutely insane, like a Mötley Crüe show you’ve never seen before, or heard before.”

Not wanting to give away too many details when it came to the band’s residency, John 5 promised a spectacular show that “will immerse the audience in the band’s history, leading all the way through their record-breaking ‘Stadium Tour’.” He added, “It is going to be something like people have never seen before. It’s gonna be incredible.”

Although releasing their last studio album, Saints of Los Angeles, back in 2008, the band continues to entertain fans with a celebration of their rich legacy in heavy metal.
