Morgan Wallen recently announced his new music festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, to an outpouring of fan support on social media. However, the new Sand In My Boots beachside festival is taking the place of another cherished event.

Hangout Music Festival is ending for the foreseeable future as Morgan Wallen steps in to curate a multi-genre fest. Wallen teamed up with AEG to plan Sand In My Boots, taking over the site of Hangout Music Festival. This past May, Hangout featured a diverse lineup of artists, including Zach Bryan, Lana Del Rey, The Chainsmokers, Chappell Roan, All Time Low, Doechii, Sexyy Red, Koe Wetzel, and Megan Moroney.

Wallen took to social media to announce the new festival, claiming that he’ll be curating with similar multi-genre tastes in mind. However, the artists included in Sand In My Boots will be Wallen’s friends, favorite artists, and people he’s always wanted to perform with. Additionally, he didn’t mention if he will also be included in the lineup.

While Morgan Wallen’s Fans Rejoice at New Festival, Hangout Fest Fans Are Left Disgruntled

Morgan Wallen’s fans shared their excitement for the new festival on the social media announcement. Many were supportive and eager to see the lineup. However, there were a few Hangout Festival fans who were not so happy about the change.

“RIP Hangout. It’s been a great run,” one person wrote on Twitter. Another commented, “Omg gross,” with a vomiting emoji, a pretty clear indicator that this person will not be attending Sand In My Boots Festival next year.

Others were a bit harsher with their disappointment. However, Morgan Wallen has a devoted fanbase. Most likely his new festival won’t suffer too much with attendance issues. He sells out arenas and stadiums left and right, with a notable series of shows in Knoxville recently. A beachside music festival was allegedly the logical next step.

Sand In My Boots will take place on May 16 to 18, 2025 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Fans can sign up for updates on the festival website and be the first to know when the lineup drops.
