Post Malone Stops by Famous Flora-Bama Bar To Give Surprise Performance of Zach Top’s “I Never Lie”

Already making a name for himself thanks to albums like Hollywood’s Bleeding and Austin, Post Malone decided to expand his discography when he shared a love for country music. Over the last year, the genre watched as stars like Beyonce released albums centered around country. And back in August, Malone added his name to country music when he released F-1 Trillion. Already gaining praise from fans for his duet with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help”, the singer recently stopped by the famous Flora-Bama bar for a surprise performance celebrating Zach Top.

While on the road for his F-1 Trillion tour, Malone performed at The Wharf Amphitheater in front of a sea of his fans. Although loving his time on the stage, the singer decided he wasn’t finished after the lights went out. Exploring the area, Malone found himself at the Flora-Bama bar. Throughout the years, the bar hosted numerous icons. Sitting on the state line between Florida and Alabama, Malone walked on stage to perform “I Had Some Help.” But not just wanting to showcase his own discography, he also covered Zach Top’s “I Never Lie.”

Post Malone Discusses Going Country

Gaining praise from fans for his performances, Malone appeared to enjoy the reception he received from country music. Having dabbled in other genres, he continued to shower country music with love. Back in August, he admitted, “I am happy… I can’t remember the last album that I made where I was like, I have a 2-year-old, I’m 29 years old… I’m taking it easy and slowing it down. And I think it’s really nice meeting people in Nashville that made me feel so welcome and new friends and kind of building new stuff.”

Although F-1 Trillion marked his first country album, Malone discussed how he wrote country songs as a kid. “Whenever I was playing and recording myself and stuff, I would just write Hank Sr. songs, just in that vein, because all I had was Audacity, the free recording thing and I would just sit on my bed and write these songs. I have no idea, I don’t know what ‘My Son Calls Another Man,’ I don’t know what that’s about, but I’d write it about the girl from science class or whatever.”

With Malone continuing to expand his career, it appears that the singer might have found a permanent home in country music.
