The Castellows, a trio of sisters from Georgia, released their debut single “No. 7 Road” last year. Earlier this year, they released their debut EP A Little Goes a Long Way. Since then, they have been busy recording and releasing new music and collaborating with other country artists. They previously partnered with Wyatt Flores for the song “Sober Sundays.” Now, they’ve collaborated with Colby Acuff on a cover of the Eagles’ classic “Peaceful Easy Feeling.”

Acuff posted a snippet of their rendition of the song on social media last week. “I got a peaceful easy feeling,” he wrote in the post’s caption, tagging The Castellows. He sings lead and the trio sings harmony behind him in the video. The sisters’ blood harmony is at the heart of their sound and it is on full display in the clip as they broaden the sonic landscape of the cover. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like a full version of their cover is currently available.

“Peaceful Easy Feeling” is among the Eagles’ most popular songs. As a result, several covers of the song are floating around the internet today. However, few are as good as the snippet above.

According to Songfacts, a San Diego-based singer/songwriter named Jack Tempchin started writing “Peaceful Easy Feeling” while stranded at a club after a show. After finishing the song, Temphin traveled to Los Angeles where he spent time with Glenn Frey, Jackson Browne, and other members of the West Coast scene. Frey came to Browne’s house one day and heard Tempchin playing the song. After getting a cassette of the tune, Frey worked up a demo with his band. At the time, they were Linda Ronstadt’s backing band but they would soon become the Eagles.

“It’s not a love song exactly,” Tempchin said of the song. “The guy’s going, ‘Hey,m either way, it’s going to be fine.’”

The Eagles recorded the song and released it as the third single from their self-titled debut album. While it missed the top 20, peaking at No. 22, “Peaceful Easy Feeling” remains one of the band’s most popular and iconic songs more than 50 years later.
