SGTC Aviation Maintenance, Avionics, and Aircraft Structural students tour Embraer

South Georgia Technical College Aviation Maintenance, Avionics, and Aircraft Structural students and their instructors attended the EMBRAER Summer of Hospitality Open House in Macon recently.  Cynthia Carter, SGTC Career Services Director and Tylen Pepito, SGTC Admissions Counselor/Recruiter, also attended.

Geoffrey Hammonds, Embraer Manager Technical Support, Structures Composites and Paint, extended the invitation to the SGTC students and faculty to tour the Macon, Georgia facility, ask questions, and see real maintenance on commercial aircraft.

Embraer has built one of the largest aerospace companies in the world.  They pay attention to all stages of professional life and offer educational programs and special projects that serve everyone, from talented youth to those looking beyond retirement.

Embraer has positions open in the areas of: A&P mechanics, flight controls, small structural repairs, specialized tools, technical data, engine overhaul, and SQDC (Safety, Quality, Deliver, Costs). Their focus is on partnerships, human development and allowing individuals to grow in areas that correspond to interests.

South Georgia Technical College is currently accepting applications for Fall Semester for the Aviation Maintenance programs and over 200 other associate of applied science degrees, diploma, and technical certificates of credit programs.  Classes start August 15.
