TriMet, Portland's primary public transit agency, is poised to introduce significant upgrades to its bus services starting February 25th, 2024. These enhancements, crafted through the agency's Forward Together service process, aim to bolster connectivity for residents across the region, particularly facilitating easier access to major employment hubs such as Amazon and FedEx. Here's a breakdown of the upcoming changes:

TriMet's Frequent Service network, comprising 18 of its busiest bus lines, has been instrumental in providing reliable transportation options. The latest addition to this network, Line 48-Cornell, was integrated into the Frequent Service lineup in November 2023. Notably, buses on these lines operate at intervals of 15 minutes or better throughout most of the day, ensuring enhanced accessibility for commuters.

Beginning the week of February 25th, the following lines will witness an expansion of Frequent Service:

    Line 12-Barbur/Sandy Blvd

    Line 57-TV Hwy/Forest Grove

    Line 75-Cesar Chavez/Lombard

These expansions signify TriMet's commitment to adapting to evolving commuter needs, particularly during peak hours. By extending more frequent services, TriMet aims to streamline travel experiences for passengers, facilitating smoother journeys to workplaces, educational institutions, and other vital destinations.

These adjustments align with TriMet's broader vision of fostering a robust, accessible public transit system that caters to the diverse needs of Portland's residents. As the city continues to grow and evolve, such proactive measures are essential in ensuring that public transportation remains a viable and convenient option for all.

Stay tuned for further updates and announcements from TriMet as they continue to strive towards enhancing the public transit experience in Portland and beyond.
