According to a recent analysis conducted by The Seattle Times, the past academic year witnessed a record number of reported shootings across the nation, shedding light on a distressing local trend: an increase in students being apprehended with guns on school premises.

Expulsions and suspensions remain common consequences for students found in possession of firearms, with the past year seeing a notable increase in expulsions. However, it's crucial to approach each incident holistically, considering individual circumstances and providing necessary support.
