Cheek to Houston: 29th Annual Trail Ride Celebrates Tradition

For the 29th consecutive year, the Northeastern Trail Ride Association has embarked on its journey from Cheek to Houston. Led by Trail Boss Anthony Bruno and Trail Boss Assistant Donald Crawford, this annual event brings together riders from all walks of life to celebrate a cherished tradition.

Departing from Laday's Area in Cheek on a crisp Sunday morning, the riders set out on their pilgrimage to Houston, marking another chapter in the rich history of the Northeastern Trail Ride. But this journey is more than just a ride; it's a testament to camaraderie, heritage, and community spirit.

One unique aspect of the Northeastern Trail Ride is its partnership with Triple E Workshop, a special needs organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through education and employment skills. As the riders traverse the trail, they share their handcrafted buttons with fellow travelers, spreading joy and goodwill along the way.

Established in 1942, the Northeastern Trail Ride Association holds a special place in the heart of the Houston Rodeo Livestock Show and Rodeo. As one of eleven trail rides participating in this iconic event, the Northeastern Trail Ride embodies the essence of western culture and tradition.
