The power of social media can sometimes be harnessed for good, connecting us with friends, family, and even businesses. However, in some cases, it can also unveil concerning and potentially harmful situations. Such is the case with a recent incident in Memphis, Tennessee, where a woman faces charges after posting disturbing images involving her five-year-old daughter on social media.

Jasmine Moss finds herself in legal trouble after sharing a photo on her Instagram account depicting her young daughter performing waxing services on older women. The Memphis Police Department swiftly took action upon receiving multiple complaints about the troubling content.

According to reports, Moss used her social media platform to promote her hair removal service, but instead of showcasing her own work, she boasted about her daughter's involvement in the process. The images shared by Moss depicted the young girl applying hot wax to the pubic areas of adults, a task far too advanced and inappropriate for a child of her age.

The implications of Moss' actions extend beyond mere neglect. The welfare of her daughter is called into question, as subjecting a child to such tasks not only endangers her physically but also exposes her to emotional and psychological harm. Furthermore, Moss' disregard for legal regulations governing esthetician services raises concerns about the safety and legitimacy of her business operations.

Melanie Saulsbury, owner of the Memphis Skin Academy and a licensed esthetician, voiced her concerns, emphasizing the dangers associated with waxing, even for trained professionals. She highlighted the stringent requirements in Tennessee for obtaining an esthetician license, which include extensive training and examinations to ensure practitioners are equipped to perform such services safely.

Saulsbury also underscored the importance of operating esthetician businesses in compliance with state regulations and safety standards. While it's not illegal to run such businesses from home, adherence to inspection protocols and local codes is crucial to safeguarding the public.

The disturbing nature of this case serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities that come with parenthood and professional conduct. It also underscores the need for vigilance in monitoring and addressing concerning content on social media platforms, especially when it involves the welfare of children.

As Jasmine Moss faces legal repercussions for her actions, the focus must remain on ensuring the safety and well-being of her daughter and holding individuals accountable for their negligence and disregard for established standards. Additionally, this incident serves as a call to action for communities to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from exploitation and harm.

In my opinion, the mother meant well but she didn't realize the danger she was opening her daughter up to. The daughter could have eventually gotten confused and thought it was okay for someone to touch her. The system fails children all the time leaving them with real predators who mean them no good. This child wasn't in physical danger so I think that the family should have been order to counseling. If you're going to charge her, charge the real predators and all the DCS workers who knowingly leave kids with monsters. I don't know this woman but I can say she's human and she made a mistake. Nobody is prefect and people do deserve a second chance to right their wrongs.
