In a shocking turn of events, an 18-year-old female has been apprehended in connection with a pair of shootings that rattled the San Pedro community earlier this year. The incidents, which occurred in January, left one man dead and several others injured.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Estrella Rojas, a resident of San Pedro. Rojas stands accused of involvement in two separate shootings, which took place just two weeks apart.

The first incident unfolded on January 6th when two suspects confronted a 19-year-old man. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape unharmed after one of the suspects fired shots at his vehicle as he drove away.

However, tragedy struck on January 20th when a dispute at Machista, a local bar situated at the corner of Pacific Avenue and West 10th Street, turned deadly. According to reports, a physical altercation preceded the shooting, during which Rojas allegedly discharged multiple rounds, striking three individuals.

Tyrone Tyars, a 33-year-old man, tragically lost his life in the chaos. Additionally, a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, fortunately with non-life-threatening wounds.

The LAPD, in collaboration with the FBI Fugitive Task Force, diligently pursued the investigation, ultimately leading to Rojas's arrest on March 7th. Rojas now faces serious charges, including one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

This series of events has left the community in shock and mourning. The senseless violence has underscored the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.

Anyone with pertinent information regarding these incidents is urged to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation. South Bureau Homicide Division detectives can be reached at 323-786-5100.

As the legal proceedings against Rojas unfold, the community remains hopeful for justice and healing in the wake of these devastating events.
