(Ames, IA) – Iowa State’s volleyball team saw both extensive success on the floor and in the classroom this season. The Cyclone volleyball team has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.

This award now marks the fifth straight season that Iowa State has claimed the award and the eighth time since the award began in the 1992-93 season. Iowa State posted a team GPA of 3.43 throughout the year and a 3.51 GPA in the fall and a 3.34 GPA in the spring as a team.

Head Coach Christy Johnson-Lynch has led her team to every AVCA Award that the program has earned over her tenure as head coach of the Cyclones. Iowa State was led to an overall 20-10 record this season with an 11-7 record.

In order to earn the AVCA Academic Team Award, teams will maintain a GPA of 3.30 or higher.
