A grand jury recently indicted a Lynchburg man on a charge of aggravated murder in connection with his wife’s death last August. Michael L. Perry III, 22, is accused of murder in the killing of Avriel Hooks, 20, on or around Aug. 22. At a recent preliminary hearing in Amherst Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Lynchburg Police Department Detective Chad Davis testified of getting a missing person’s call, spurring an investigation that brought him to Amherst County.
