The Women Artists Forward Fund tries to fill in what Wisconsin lacks in arts funding
Wisconsin ranks dead last in the nation for arts funding, spending just 18 cents per capita on the arts. In contrast, Minnesota pays about $9.67 per capita. This lack of funding creates financial barriers for Wisconsin artists — especially women. According to the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 46% of visual artists in the U.S. are women, but they earn just 74% of what male artists do.
RNC: convention platform lacks policies to combat climate change
There is no mention of combating climate change in this year’s Republican Party platform. Instead, the party is calling for more oil and gas to be drilled in the U.S. Wisconsin conservative climate activist Benji Backer says that the party should be doing more to help the environment. AJ Dillon and Wife Launch Foundation to Combat Hunger in Northeast Wisconsin
LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — AJ Dillon, and his wife Gabrielle, launched ‘The Dillon Family Foundation’ to tackle hunger in our area. The couple partnered with Feeding America in order to help as many people as possible. The foundation kicked off Thursday afternoon, packing 375 meals to be delivered to families across northeast Wisconsin.
