Birch Named to Team Canada for 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships
North Dakota State University sophomore high jumper Arienne Birch has been selected to represent Canada at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru, on Aug. 29-31. Birch (Mississauga, Ontario) won both the Summit League indoor and outdoor titles in the high jump as a freshman in 2024, as well as qualifying for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. She cleared 5-09.75 (1.77m) for second place in the U20 high jump at the Canadian Championships in June to qualify for Team Canada.

Woofstock raises money for Furry Friends Rockin' Rescue
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - At Buckstop Junction, Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue showed off some of the animals being fostered at their annual Woofstock event on Saturday. The organization put on a variety of kids’ and family activities, as well as introduced visitors to some of the pets. Despite the name being Woofstock, Furry Friends also showed off some of their cats and kittens. Foster Julie Schirado says the event usually raises around $15,000 to $20,000.
