One Chick-fil-A Location in Hammond, Louisiana Has Caused Some Controversy This Summer. This Chick-fil-A wanted to help parents out and they decided to host a few day-long summer camps for children from age five to twelve. This summer camp is supposed to help kids learn life skills and ultimately teach them how to work at Chick-fil-A. Do the kids get paid? Nope, however, parents do have to pay $35 per day. So basically, your kids get to roleplay, instead of playing house they get to play Chick-fil-A.
STPSO Investigating Armed Robbery at Covington-area ATM
Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating after a man was robbed at gunpoint while using a Covington-area ATM. Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday (June 28) a black male wearing a mask and dark clothing approached a man who was making a deposit at an ATM outside a bank on Highway 21 near Covington. Armed with a pistol, the suspect demanded the money the victim was attempting to deposit and then left the area in a dark colored sedan.

Southeastern’s Jay Artigues to chair 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Committee
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Southeastern Louisiana University Director of Athletics Jay Artigues has been selected to serve as the chair of the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee in 2024-25. Artigues is entering his fourth year on the committee which is responsible for selecting, seeding and bracketing the entire 64-team NCAA Tournament field. In addition, the committee is tasked with recommending rule changes and revisions to the NCAA Baseball Rules Committee.

Gwendolyn, age 92, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was a native of Nacogdoches, Texas and a resident of Ponchatoula. Throughout her life, Gwendolyn used her creative artistic gifts to create beauty in this world. For example, her many quilts she handcrafted over the decades, along with her angelic singing voice, singing ‘on-pitch’ every song. Always and in every way, her family always came first. Gwendolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
