She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Russell Howell; daughters, Cecilia Horton Fletcher and Valorie Eakins; sons, Leon St. Cyr, John David Eakins and wife, Sandy, Joseph Wayne Eakins and wife Jude, and Steven Wayne Howell; sisters, Betty Mixon Woods and husband, Larry and Cheryl Mixon Catt and husband, David; grandchildren, Nathaniel Lee Horton, Alison Rose Chapman, Isabella Eakins, Milo Eakins, Whittney Eakins, Brittany Eakins, Tiffany Eakins Arcement, Christopher Eakins, and Kristin Head; great-grandchildren, Palmer James Garren, Lilly Arcement, and Violet Arcement. Mae Jean passed away at her home in Hillsdale, Louisiana, on July 3, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born and raised in St. Helena Parish. She married her high school sweetheart, Hobert, in 1952. Together they raised three children. Mae Jean was a homemaker her whole life. She enjoyed raising her children and babysitting her grandchildren. She had a green thumb and could raise any plant or flower that she wanted to, this often resulted in many total strangers stopping to admire her yard and staying for a cup of coffee. She always welcomed everyone into her home. Within your first few sips of your coffee, you would ultimately receive some type of compliment whether it was your hair, your make-up or your shirt you always left feeling better about yourself. She was one of a kind.

Nancy Lee (Beegle) Lingenfelter, 86 years of age, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at her home in Covington, LA surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Michael Irvin Lingenfelter for 67 years. Born in Altoona, PA, she was the only child of the late Harold and Thelma (Burleigh) Beegle. Nancy is survived by her children Robin Jackson (Steve), Susan Snelling (Mickey), Mark Lingenfelter (Jenny), and Tammy Conner, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, father Harold, and mother Thelma.

David Brown, age 66 years, a resident of Amite, passed away peacefully at his home, June 30, 2024 with his family at his bed side. He retired from Girl Scouts Camp Mary Dale in St. Francisville, LA where he was affectionately known as “Ranger Dave”. He was born August 8, 1957 in Amite, LA to Roger Brown, Sr. and Annette Pinault Brown. He is survived by 3 daughters, Leah Landrew (Erlest, III), Davina “Alice” Smith (Ryan), and Tiffany King (TJ Harris); 1 son, David Andrew “Andy” Brown (Sarah); grandchildren, Lamyia, Laterrica, Erlest “Alex”, IV, Trevor and Layla Landrew, Kaylee and Aubree Brown, Madison, Alivia and Andrew “Drew” Smith, Emilee, Karsen and Adalynn King, and Jett and Landon Harris; 1 brother, Ricky Brown (Kerri); sister-in-law, Louise Brown. Preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Annette Brown; grandparents, Abner Brown, Sr. and Esther Golman Brown and John Pinault and Ursula Spring Pinault; and brother, Roger Brown, Jr. “Buddy”.
