Hot Springs man previously charged with capital murder in 2021, found not guilty
HOT SPRINGS — In 2021, Cody Webb was charged with capital murder after the death of his infant son. Yesterday, the verdict was overturned. On July 16, the Jury in the State of Arkansas vs. Cody Webb case reached a verdict of not guilty and the judge announced the case was dismissed.
Pine Bluff School District plans to sell old office center, schools
Pine Bluff School District officials are planning to sell the district's former administration building and two elementary schools. Members of the PBSD board facilities committee met Tuesday morning for a work session to discuss advertising for the best offers on the old multistory administration building on Sixth Avenue, as well as Indiana Street and Oak Park elementary schools. Superintendent Jennifer Barbaree explained selling the campuses would help the district eliminate the costs of insurance and upkeep for the facilities, which have been closed for years, as well as remove its liability for homeless people who she said continues to break into elementary schools.

SPRINGDALE, Ark — One Springdale woman's whim paid off big-time when she collected her winnings from a lottery ticket she purchased at the Kum and Go on E. Robinson Avenue. Pine Bluff paper mill is to be sold in $110M deal
Pactiv Evergreen Inc. has announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its Pine Bluff paper mill and Waynesville, N.C., extrusion facility to global paper and pulp producer Suzano S.A., a Brazilian company, for $110 million in cash, according to a news release posted on the Pactiv Evergreen site.
