Dallas Outage: Less than 5,000 people still waiting for electricity

Most of the people in the Dallas area who were left without electricity after the intense storm last week now have power back. However, Oncor is still reporting about 5,000 outages in the area.

Unfortunately, that number has gone slightly up early on Tuesday. This is because every time a new storm comes through, the crews' work has to slow down while they're dedicated to getting everyone's power back.

For those who only got their electricity back recently, the wait took a toll in many ways.

"It does affect everything. Saturday started to be a day where I was like I am not doing well. I've tried to be as positive as possible, but this is affecting me. The only thing I want is my bed, my dogs, and my AC," Laura Munoz, who lost power after a neighbor's tree took out her power line in Dallas, said. The woman's lights were finally back on Monday, and she didn't have many options.

Oncor urges those who still don't have electricity to check if the meter base or the weather head are damaged. Those repairs will need to be done by a licensed electrician before Oncor crews can connect them back to electricity.
