Paul Crockett, 29, has been charged with murder after the fatal shooting of Steven Jordan.

Dallas police have announced that a suspect was taken into custody for the deadly shooting that took place at a convenience store located in Oak Cliff.

Paul Crockett, 29, has been accused of shooting and slaying Steven Arnell Jordan, 53. The incident followed an argument that occurred at the convenience store.

Officers got a call about the shooting at about 11:50 p.m. The shooting took place in the 2900 block of South Westmoreland Road. Once they got to the location, crews found Jordan lying on the ground. The man was in the street and had one gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. Shortly after getting there, the victim died.

Jordan, who was a preacher's son, was said to have inherited his sense of humor. He was also committed to helping others, and his friends described him as a man who "loved life."
