Richard Gere Hospitalized In Mexico

Actor Richard Gere has been hospitalized in Mexico after coming down with pneumonia. The 73-year-old star was on vacation with his family when he fell ill. According to TMZ, the actor is down near Nuevo Vallarta this week with his wife, Alejandra Silva and their kids.

According to sources close to Gere, he started feeling unwell a few days ago and his condition worsened quickly. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and has been receiving treatment.

Before the trip, Richard developed a bad cough, and it continued while he was there as well. Sources say it was so bad, he had to check himself into a hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and treated during an overnight stay. He was treated with antibiotics and released the following day.

The actor is best known for his roles in films such as "Pretty Woman," "An Officer and a Gentleman," and "Chicago." He has been a prominent figure in Hollywood for several decades, earning acclaim for his performances and his humanitarian work.

Richard Gere is no stranger to health scares. According to Designer Women, in 2000, Gere contracted Lyme disease on the set of Autumn in New York, co-starring Wynona Rider. Gere was treated with antibiotics. Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne illness in the United States.

In a Instagram post, wife, Alejandra Silva posted Thursday, she stated the whole family had previously been ill for 3 weeks.
