Shocking Video Shows a Man Before a Fatal Crash Drinking Beer While 11-year-Old Son Flies Plane

A chilling video of a Brazilian dad consuming beer while allowing his 11-year-old son to fly his private plane has appeared on social media. The footage was purportedly filmed minutes before both dad and son were ultimately killed in a plane crash, according to Express.co.uk.

Garon Maia, 42, and his son Francisco Maia, 11, were killed when their twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58 crashed into a forest on July 29. The event is being investigated, and investigators are attempting to determine whether the video was filmed prior to the catastrophic event.

Mr. Maia is shown in the video consuming a bottle of beer while allowing his 11-year-old son to fly his private plane. He is also shown instructing his son on how to handle the airplane and teaching him about the controls.

It's unknown when Mr. Maia shot the video, but what was seen in it demonstrated how just how seriously he took his and his son's safety, according to authorities. They are also attempting to determine whether his son was the pilot of the plane when it crashed.

According to a local Brazilian outlet, Mr. Maia took off from a family farm in the Rondônia city of Nova Conquista and then landed at an airport in Vilhena to refuel. He planned to send his son back to Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, where he lives with his mother and goes to school.

Brazilian law states that the only people who are allowed to fly airplanes are those who are at least 18 years old, have completed high school, and have registered with the National Civil Aviation Agency.

Shockingly, another person was killed in regards to the tragic incident. Mr. Maia's wife, Ms. Ana Pridonik, committed suicide hours after her husband and stepson were buried on August 1.
