As reported by RawsAlerts, due to a potentially fatal downpour storm and a Shelter-in-Place recommendation, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams have issued a state of emergency for New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.

There is significant flooding affecting millions of New Yorkers, and many streets, highways, subways, and buildings are underwater.

All trains going to and from New York City are running late or not at all.

City authorities are advising people to stay inside and make preparations for the worst, especially those who live in basements.

Some areas of the city have received nearly 6 inches of rain so far.

Officials at LaGuardia Airport stated that Terminal A will be temporarily closed after departing New Yorkers experienced ankle-deep water.

At this time, there are 50 canceled flights and 44 reported delays at LaGuardia Airport.
