    Two Children Killed in NC House Fire

    As reported by 3 WBTV, after a house fire on Sunday night close to the border between Lincoln and Catawba counties, two children passed away, according to authorities.

    It happened soon before nine o'clock at night on Grassy Creek Road, close to Gates Drive. The deaths were confirmed by the sheriff of Lincoln County. When firefighters arrived at the house, they stated they observed a lot of fire and that the children had been taken out of a window.

    Sherrills Ford Fire Chief Rick Davis stated, "The rescue was made through the window, where firefighters actually handed the children out to other firefighters and we had paramedic units standing by. They actually started administering care at the time.”

    The children's names and ages have not been disclosed as of now, according to officials. According to family members, the two children are Kaleigh, age 6, and Khloe, age 4.

    Davis stated, “We hate it when anybody has to go through something like this, but I think the the crews done a great job with the resources they had at the time to make the rescues, as well as to perform other searches in the house."

    According to investigators, an electrical issue led to an accidental fire.
