Severe Storm with Possiblility of Tornadoes in NC on Tuesday

Monday is expected to be mostly sunny with a possibility of reaching the 50° mark.

On Tuesday, a strengthening low pressure system will come in from the east moving along the country. This puts the Triad and surrounding areas at risk for potentially extreme damaging weather events.

The strongest of these storms with rain are expected between 4pm and 11pm in central North Carolina. Wind gusts up to 40-45 miles per hour are expected. Even stronger winds could occur, and the threat of tornadoes is possible. Expect heavy rain and high winds with this storm. Flooding in some areas is possible.

Be sure to secure lawn furniture and other outdoor items that could be lifted and tossed around as the winds with this storm could be potentially damaging.
