    Wind Chill Advisory Issued for NC

    2024-01-21

    Be prepared for a bitter cold wind chill this morning in parts of North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. This wind chill advisory lasts between 2:28am-10:00am on January 21.

    You should only venture outside if necessary. Be sure to wear double layers and protective items such as gloves and hats/hoods to cover your ears up.

    The NWS has released this wind chill advisory statement:

    "Event:Wind Chill AdvisoryAlert:

    WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING...

    * WHAT...Very cold wind chills. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero.

    * WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest and west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

    * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

    Instructions: Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves."

    its very cold outside..thinking of others who have no where to go and the poor furbabies

    Yep. Went to take my dog outside this morning, I had on sweatpants, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a beanie, and wrapped a flannel blanket around me… I could still feel the cold through it all, after just a couple minutes.
