Police Say Teen 'Obsessed' With Columbine Was Planning to Shoot Up School

According to authorities on Wednesday, an 18-year-old in Ontario, California, who was "obsessed" with the Columbine shooting, concocted a complex scheme to carry out a mass shooting at his own high school.

Following an alleged discovery of "over a thousand rounds of ammunition" and 11 firearms during a search of his residence, Sebastian Villasenor was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and terrorist threat. There was also indication that he had been meticulously planning the crime.

At a press conference, Ontario Police Chief Mike Lorenz stated, "He researched tactical supplies and was in the process of choosing a specific date to carry out the school shooting. He was so obsessed with our response times that he Google-mapped how far it would be from the Ontario Police Department for our response time to the school.”

Although there was no manifesto, according to the police, Villasenor had "contemplated" hurting six of his peers specifically.

Because they informed authorities about Villasenor's fixation and the potential that he possessed weapons, another student from Ontario is credited with preventing the catastrophic event.
