3 People Killed, 3 Injured on 'Dead Man's Curve' in Edgecombe County, NC

In an accident that happened in Edgecombe County, NC on Saturday night, three people died and three more were injured.

The collision occurred close to Kingsboro Road on US 64 Alt. When the crash occurred, a Saturn and a Dodge pickup truck were traveling on US 64 Alt., according to officials. At the site, three people were declared dead. According to officials, two people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and one person was airlifted.

The "Dead Man's Curve" road is the scene of frequent crashes, according to the Heartsease Community Fire Chief.

"This curve took many lives in the past years, I've been chief for four years, and we've probably had a dozen here. the nickname out here is "dead man's curve." and it's been known to take lives," James Bowen, Heartsease Fire Dept. said.

US 64 Alt. is still closed while authorities conduct their investigation.
