Missing Pregnant 17-year-old Found Dead in SC

Barnwell County, South Carolina - According to the Broken Link Foundation, a pregnant 17-year-old who had gone missing was discovered dead on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say that Maylashia Hogg, who was 9 months pregnant and due on February 14, was discovered dead.

Her family is pleading with the public and law enforcement to assist them in obtaining the information they need to determine what happened to Maylashia.

She and her unborn daughter were discovered on Sunday, and a memorial was erected there by her family on Monday.

Robert Payne, her cousin, stated, "Whoever did it needs to be in jail. She was only a child. A child with a child."

The scheduled induction date for Hogg to give birth was February 13. February 8 was her last known encounter.

The teen's mother passed away a year and a half ago, and the family stated she had already named her daughter London Charity in her honor.

Payne said, "She was excited to be a mom. I know somebody did something to her."

According to Kimberly Kite of the Broken Link Foundation, Hogg's body was discovered less than 0.5 miles from her residence.

Maylashia's family claims she boasted about being the best mother ever for her daughter, but they knew she was in danger when she missed her appointment on February 13.
