Freeze Warning Issued for NC Counties

A Freeze Warning has been issued for most NC counties tonight through tomorrow morning. The following counties should take precaution for an extreme freezing event: Stanly; Montgomery; Moore; Lee; Anson; Richmond.

Be sure to bring in or cover plants as this freeze can kill vegetation. Be sure to cover up well keeping extremities covered when going out tonight and tomorrow morning.

The NWS has issued the following statement:

"Freeze Warning issued March 18 at 8:36PM EDT until March 19 at 9:00AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected.
* WHERE...Anson, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, and Stanly Counties.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Instructions:

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
