Owner of Unauthorized Daycare in NC Faces Additional Charges for Child Abuse

    2024-03-22

More charges have been brought against the owner of a Triad day care center, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigators.

Brittany Clark was taken into custody after detectives declared they had started looking into "The Nest," which is located at 6012 Stone Bluff Drive in Clemmons, on January 25.

According to investigators, the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education issued a notice to the daycare center to stop operations. The facility was found to be operating within the state without a license in September 2022.

Investigators discovered on February 1st that "The Nest" remained open despite being issued a warning.

At first, Clark, 35, was accused of one felony count of providing childcare without a license. She is now also charged with two counts of felonious child abuse.

Clark was not given a bond and is being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
