With the official start of summer only two weeks away, the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce has released the 2024 lineup for its annual July Jamz concert series.
The event features a concert performed on the lawn of Andalusia’s Springdale Estate. There will only be three concerts this year due to the Fourth of July falling on a Thursday. The City of Andalusia will kick off the month in a celebration filled with music, watermelon, and fireworks.
“We are excited for the return of our annual summer favorite July Jamz next month. This year will feature a wide variety of performers from several musical genres. Thank you to all of our sponsors who help make this event possible each year, the city workers for assistance with setting up, and the community for all your support,” AACC Executive Director Mellisa King said.
July Jamz 2024 begins on July 11 with Lords of Church Street, a local band with a funky sound, as the opening act. Legacy, an energized rhythm and blues band, will headline the first night with their old-school hits. Shaw Industries will be the title sponsor for the first show.
The fun continues a week later on July 18 when American Idol’s Brant McCollough takes the stage. McClain Contracting will sponsor headliner Shane Owens who will dazzle the crowd with country music including his hit song “Country Never Goes Out of Style.” Andalusia Health will be the title sponsor of the second show.
This year’s festivities will close with Kiwanis karaoke contest winner Kiera Howell and Next Exit as the opener on July 25. The Rock Mob, a rock tribute band that plays artists from the 1980s, will serve as the final headliner of the month. Step One Automotive will be the final title sponsor.
Admission is free for all performances with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. each Thursday. Music starts at 6 p.m. Foam Frenzy sponsored by All In Credit Union will be held at 7 p.m. each night.
“We have added a July Jamz Kids Showdown for the first time this year that will take place between the opener and headliner each week. There will be games, activities, and competitions for children of all ages to enjoy. We will once again have food vendors this year and will end each night with a fireworks show. As always, admission to July Jamz is free, and so come out, bring your chairs, and have a great time,” AACC Director of Membership Services Maggie Holmes said.
