Domino players from across the United States will gather in Andalusia in an attempt to take the title from Norman Turner of Ozark, who is the defending singles champion, and Lyndon Livingston of Kinder, LA, and Rickey Rambo of Kansas City, MO, who are the defending doubles champions.

This year’s tournament features a $5,000 first place prize to the winner in the singles competition, and $2,500 each to winners in doubles, with more than $20,000 in cash prizes guaranteed.

In addition, the club will host a Fantastic Domino Sweepstakes and steak dinner on Friday night, with a $15,000 prize. Sweepstakes tickets, which are $100, gives the holder a chance at the prize money and two dinners. Benji and Amy Mikel, owners of Tabby D’s, will cater this year’s dinner.

Early registration is $100 per player for adult singles or doubles. There is a $10 fee for late registration. The club also has tournaments for teens and children.

Online registration and tournament rules are available at worldchampionshipdomino.com .

Ivy Rogers will serve as the 2024 Miss World Championship Domino Queen for this week’s tournament. Ivy will be on hand for drawings and award presentations.

The Andalusia Rotary Club, which sponsors the WCDT, originally held a corresponding pageant. But in recent years, the Rotary Club has partnered with the Distinguished Young Woman of Covington County program to have the DYW serve as Domino Queen.

The event will be held at the Kiwanis Community Center, 20096 S. Bypass, Andalusia.
