    Antioch Volunteer Fire Department marks 50 years

    Department members plan community event on August 3

    Antioch Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a community wide celebration and open house commemorating 50 years of continuous service to the Antioch community and Covington County. The event will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the station located at 29183 Antioch Rd. in Andalusia.

    The event is free, open to the public, and all citizens are encouraged to attend. The department will be providing inflatables for kids, numerous door prizes, free smoke detectors, free t-shirts, and free hot dogs and hamburgers.

    The department will have equipment on display to highlight the services it provides to the community.

    The members of the Antioch Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the sponsors of the event: CCB Community Bank, Covington Electric Cooperative, Young’s Florist, Andalusia Piggly Wiggly, Hilltop, Golden Rule BBQ, Hiller Fire, Step One Automotive, The Sports Shoppe, Grit and Grind, Straughn Football Boosters, and Caroline’s Country Store.
