Ultra-Endurance Cyclist Lael Wilcox Passes Through Humboldt on Record-Setting Journey Around the Globe
Ultra-endurance bicycle racer Lael Wilcox is passing through Humboldt County today on her journey to become the fastest woman to circumnavigate the globe via bicycle. At the end of May, Wilcox set off from Chicago on a monumental mission to cycle 18,000 miles around the world in just 110 days, aiming to break the current Guinness World Record held by Scottish cyclist Jenny Graham, who completed the feat in 124 days, 10 hours and 50 minutes. As of this writing, Wilcox has biked over 15,500 miles.
