A new Galesburg grocery store will be able to sell packaged liquor despite the objection of two City Council members. Galesburg Aldermen on Monday approved a Class C-1 liquor license for Save More, a new grocery expected to open within the next two week at 900 E. Main St., the former Sav A Lot. The license was approved 5-2, with Ward 3 Alderman Evan Miller and Ward 4 Alderman Dwight White casting no votes.

Sixty-seven Sandburg student-athletes earned Academic All-NJCAA Region 4 honors for the 2024 spring semester. Honorees had to achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours to earn the distinction. Among Sandburg’s recipients, 44 had a GPA of 3.50 or better.
